Occasionally a day of rest is exactly what the kind doctor in my little corner of the world recommends to put everything back into perspective. However, today was not one of those days.
By the time I managed to slip my feet into the slippers I could already hear my morning audience singing their way to the breakfast table. Maybe I slept a few too many winks past the snooze alarm this morning. Maybe everyone else was a bit more motivated. No matter what the reason, one thing was for certain – I needed to bounce into my clothes fast and get to morning breakfast!
As is common for the morning breakfast, everyone attending was excited over a few new knick-knacks for the upcoming season. Admittedly, some of the items were the cause for my tardiness this morning. Last night I just couldn’t get myself to put down that swell new… Wait, I should stop reminiscing about last night and get on with today. After all this is a 'Daily Journal' and not a 'Last night Journal'.
Then again, I can hardly wait to see how many of those new items make it onto the children's Christmas Wish list this season. No doubt I will toss a few extra on the sleigh of each so that when I get to an extra good girl or boy I will have something to surprise them with. I just wish there was enough time in a year to make enough for everyone to get everything.
Maybe I should make the Christmas Eve journey once every three years! That would certainly afford me plenty of time to get enough toys, gadgets and what-nots made for every girl and boy!
But it was a good day. Not a lot happened, but certainly was some very merry singing as Christmas approaches and the Christmas cheer gets thicker in the air.
For now, I will get to bed. Have a pleasant night all.
