We were awakened with a very loud rumble and the house was shaking! Half of Christmas Town was calling to see if I knew what had happened. I said I didn't but I was afraid I did. My eye wasn't twitching anymore. I went out onto the back porch and then I knew for sure. Everything from the top of the mountain down and across the middle of Christmas Town is nothing but a huge pile of snow. Amplifier is hooking up Dasher and Dancer to the work sleigh right now so I can take a look on the other side of the snow pile. I will write more later.
I have flown over the mound of snow and, much to my relief; the houses of the elf community most affected by the avalanche are ok. There are some buried but I am told all the elves are accounted for. Now all we have to do is have a major "dig out". That means any elf not on duty will be digging. We will fly supplies to the stranded elves daily, they will dig from their side as we dig from this side. I know, if I can fly supplies to them why not just fly them out? Jingles, Loopy and I figure it will go faster if we have elves digging from both sides. The elves on that side can also take care of their families and make sure that no one needs anything.
To help out at the workshop I have decided to activate the E.T.E.C. That stands for Emergency Temporary Elf Call. What happens is a call goes out to all the Leprechauns, Hobbits and Sprites of the world. They replace the elves from the workshop so they can sleep or dig. I pay our temporary elves with gold. Hmmm, did you ever wonder where the Leprechaun's pot of gold comes from? You know, the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow?
