It was very quiet today. No elf turning purple from rolling in red and blue paint. No little critters stealing parts and causing elves to scream and cry. No reindeer landing on his or her nose, or just plain landing too hard, while practicing their take offs and landings. The toys are being made and there are enough supplies in the workshop that no one needs to make an emergency run to the supply shed. Mrs. Claus is very excited about something. She is singing as she does her daily chores. She is fixing some great food and freezing it. I canít even get a bite!
Since everything was going so well and Mrs. Claus has practically forbidden me from entering the kitchen, the elves and I decided to treat the reindeer and ourselves to an apple and marshmallow roast! Blitzen and Comet just LOVE roasted apples and the other reindeer snacks on sugar cubes while the elves get all sticky with gooey marshmallow innards! Have you ever had a marshmallow roast? Whenever we have an apple/marshmallow roast, I put bubble bath in the hot tub and toss the sticky elves in so they are clean and sweet smelling (instead of smelling like a bonfire) for the next day.
