It’s here! Finally! Christmas Eve! The workshop is all a flutter. Elves are running here and there. The sleigh is packed. Mrs. Claus has laid out my suit and boots.
After breakfast I started to get dressed. I had my suit pants, shirt and one boot on when I decided to look at my good girls and good boys lists one last time. When I was finished I reached down and no boot! I heard a noise, looked up and saw my boot sliding out the door! I started to chase the boot and guess what I saw. On the other end of the boot was my pet ferret, Baby, pulling the boot. I chased the boot down the stairs, through the living room and into the kitchen past Mrs. Claus. Hurry! Catch Baby! She has my boot! We were surprised when Baby went out the door and not the little door because its really too cold for most animals outside. They have their own tunnels and places to go to keep them safe from the weather.
This little critter pulled my boot all the way to the workshop! If I weren’t in such a hurry I would have found it funny! Baby, the boot, Mrs. Claus and I entered workshop. Baby pulled my boot under the worktable then ran the length of it. Past Curly, under the other table, across the floor, to the steps and up she went. CowboyX tried to jump on the boot, but he missed.
Smiling, Lynn, Kanen, Mrs. Claus, Jingles and myself chased the ferret up the stairs, across the foyer, then…..she disappeared! Boot and all! After several minutes of searching NiteTime spotted her and the chase started again. As the ferret dragged my boot back down the stairs and across the floor, Krystonia closed and sat down in front of the door. Baby was having so much fun that she didn’t notice Krystonia there and ran right into her. Caught!! Baby was finally caught! I had to pretend I was angry but I had as much fun as she did. I picked Baby up and she snuggled till she was warm then gave me a kiss and wiggled free of my grasp. I could have sworn she was laughing.
Smiley took my boot and polished it again. I said my good byes, gave Mrs. Claus a kiss then gave the reins to the reindeer. I don’t think I have to tell you the rest.
