December 22

Today is a very long day for me and the elves. The elves are all hustling to fill the bag and get it on the sleigh. They need to make sure all the shops are in the process of getting cleaned up and closed down, plus if there are any last minute toys that need to be made they have to be right on it. It is a very stressful time. Thank goodness they do not drink coffee!! HO, HO, HO!!! Today I have 3 things on my agenda. 10 take a walk around town, (2) have lunch with Mrs. Claus and (3) I am going to do the final check off of the naughty and nice list with my magic quill. Once the quill marks whether or not they are naughty or nice there is no changing it.

After breakfast I made my way into town and just peeked in on the shops and to see how they were making out. Everything was quieting down. The elves were not as rushed as they were a week or two ago. It is defiantly starting to look like Christmas is over. No worries though. We will have the town in a hustle and bustle not too long after Christmas is over to begin working on the next years list. I finished my walk around town, visiting with the elves and headed back to the house for lunch.

Mrs. Claus had made a very good lunch of roasted turkey sandwiches, with a side of fresh fruit and milk and told me she would be sure to bring me up lots of goodies when I get into my office for the final check off. After a small visit after eating I retired to my office and brought out the list. I started reading off the names in my mind and checked off the appropriate box for either naughty or nice. By the time I had finished the names beginning with the letter “H” it was right about dusk. I took a small break from my work and looked out my window again at Christmas Town. In the center of town there is a huge tree that’s decorated and lit up beautifully! Tonight there is a ring of elves around the tree holding hands and singing Christmas Carol’s. It was a wonderful sight to see and hear.

I turned back to my desk and see a plate of food and a note saying “enjoy, I love you, Jessica.” I sat back down and while enjoying Jessica’s wonderful cooking I worked on the list, checking off naughty or nice for all the boys and girls of the world. I noticed that there are very few naughty being checked off this year. That brightened my night to know that there are so many children being good in the world.

I work through the night, my candles burning down to practically nothing. I look up from my work as I check of the last name of the Z’s and it was checked off as nice, and see that it is 2 in the morning. I think to myself “I have finished, it is time to get ready but first I must slumber. There are things left to do, but that will be for fun for the elves. Tomorrow, Ho, Ho, Ho, I mean this morning I will get them done after I wake.”

Goodnight to you all 1 final Day to go!!!!!
