Guess what Mrs. Claus found in the bag of mail the Mailelf delivered. Go ahead guess! Give up? Ok, I’ll tell you. Letters to Santa! Ho! Ho! Ho! Mixed in with the letters was an invitation! That’s right an invitation! We have been invited to the Penguin Terrace for a dance recital! There were two dates listed and at first I was a little confused. I just was not figuring out why we were invited to see the dance recital on two different days. Weren’t the penguins doing the same dances on both days, or were they different dances on different days? Mrs. Claus just laughed and went to see what day we were available. I got some hot chocolate and went to think about the question by the fire.
Just as I started to sit down in my favorite chair I realized I didn’t have any popcorn so I went to pop some. Since I was thinking about the question and laughing slightly at myself I wasn’t paying attention. I closed the microwave door with the end of my beard inside. I started yelling and Mrs. Claus came running. “Christmas bells, what is the matter Santa?” she exclaimed. “My beard, my beard, I shut it inside the microwave and can’t get it out!”! All I could picture was the bottom of my beard singed black or not there at all. She smirked – she says it was a silly smile – but I know it was a smirk, walked over, pushed the button and the door to the microwave popped open. To make matters worse, in my panicked state I never turned the microwave on. She walked me to my chair, covered my legs and feet so I’d be nice and cozy, gave me my hot chocolate and the book I have been reading , then hurriedly walked away. As she was closing the door to the back porch behind her I heard hysterical laughter.
The answer to yesterday’s SantaSearch Hunt:
YES. Many teachers and their classrooms use SantaSearch to send their letters to Santa by e-mail.
