TaTa, Joyjoy, Snip, Middy and I all took a trip to Europe today. What a wonderful time to travel to the countries. Did you know a lot of them celebrate Christmas like the Americanís do? Others celebrate St. Nicholas Day on the 6th of December and then some celebrate both? The feasts they have in their homes with their friends and family are absolutely amazing! Itís nice to see the old traditions caring on through generation after generation.
When you are in Europe during the Christmas celebration you could be greeted like this: The Czech say Prejeme Vam Vesele Vanoce a stastny Novy Rok. In Danish itís pronounced Glaedelig Jul The Finnish words are Hyvaa Joulua. The French words are Joyeux Noel German speaking countries say Froehliche Weihnachten The Greek words are Kala Christouyenna In Ireland the Irish say Nollaig Shona Dhuit The Italian people greet you with Buon Natale or Buone Feste Natalizie The people who speak polish say Wesolych Wsiat Bozego Narodzenia In Japan they say Shinnen omedeto. Kurisumasu Omedeto There are so many more countries and languages that all say it differently but they all mean the same thing. Merry Christmas!!!
