December 16

WOW, it is unbelievable what can be accomplished in one night and a day. Since the meeting of yesterday and the long hours put in to repairing Christmas Town you can tell that the Christmas spirit is in the air. I awoke this morning and looked out my window towards Christmas Town and I could not believe what I saw! The Town, it was …..well beautiful! The tree in the middle of town was upright and decorated with beautiful shiny ornaments, spectacular lights and glittering tinsel and atop the tree was something new, something of wonderment that I could not place nor find the words to describe. I had to go see it for myself. I got dressed and down to town I went. Along the way I saw that everything, and I mean everything was fixed. It was all back in place and all the elves were back doing there duties as if nothing had ever happened. I made it to the tree and I looked up to the top of the tree and there was the biggest, most wonderful star I had ever witnessed. It shone brightly even in the day light with all the colors of the rainbow. I was in awe. Then from behind me I heard “ I hope ye like it Santa, we, me men and I worked all night and fixed everything. That star on top of that tree is a gift to you and the elves. It is an ice star but it is a special ice star. Ye see Santa, we Ice Giants can make anything out of ice and this star on your tree has been forged with the purest ice from the Artic, it will never melt and inside we trapped some of the Aurora Borealis so it will always shine bright and never dull.” I looked at the Ice Giant Leader and said “thank you and your crew for the marvelous jobs you have done over the night and especially for this magnificent star you have made for us all here in Christmas Town.” The Ice Giant leader looked at me and said, “no Santa, thank you!” I must have stood there for another half hour looking at that star in amazement. It is truly a one of a kind work of art!
I continued to walk around town and all the elves were working hard, the sights, smells and sounds of Christmas had returned and everyone looked so happy! I went in a few bakeries and sampled some goodies before I made my way to the toyshop. Inside the toy shop was another major accomplishment. The toy list of toys needed to be made was almost caught up to the answered letters I have taken care of(which when I went to bed last night I think I had under 50 letters in my mailbag) HO!HO!HO! What a wonderful day!! Elf Jingles came up to me and said “I have a report for you Santa.” I told Jingles to go ahead with it and Jingles said “we are fully operational Santa, the toys are caught up with the requests, the wrapper has been going and moving along great and the presents are properly tagged for the right girl and boy, the town is completely repaired and all is good.” I thanked Jingles for the update and told him that I would be back in my workshop.
I made my way to my workshop where I looked in on a few children. I checked in on a family in Ocala, Florida in the USA, then a child in Chile and Ecuador and finally a family from Cairo, Egypt. Everyone is doing just great! Things are going good and on track! Well it is time for me to get back to checking the list for a second time and answer more letters. So I will say Good night my darling’s and sleep tight! Only 8 days until the big flight!!
