All day long I kept hearing the same song go thru my head, "The Little Drummer Boy". I hummed the tune, I sang the lyrics silently to myself, I sang it every time I heard it on the in-shop speakers and I sang it as I traveled about the town. I am humming it right now as I write this! I know! I will get the link from my site in case you want to sing-a-long with me! Ok. Found it. Go ahead and open it and sing with me while u read this if you wish:
Today I went around and checked with all the departments to see what was left to be done. With Christmas just a short time away, seems to be good to get things in the final stages. The good news is we are right on schedule, at least for now. Sniffles followed me around sniffling most of the day. He is a good little elf that wants to start working next year at one of the factories. Best way for him to find what he would be happiest doing is to visit each shop and talk with some of the elves there. At least that was my thinking. As it turns out, he is a little adventurer and in every workshop he managed to escape into the busy machinery and elves.
Being adventurous and curious is a very good thing in most situations. Certainly wondering around unfamiliar areas with machines spinning and whirling and whizzing rapidly making knick-knacks is not the best of situations for either. Luck held and he and I both finished the grand tour of the factories with zero incidents. He certainly was careful around the power tools and paid attention to where he was walking, so that was smart thinking on his part! However, I believe I will probably find something a little more open spaced for him. Maybe next year I will start replacing some of the fencing that helps hide this magical town. I believe miles and kilometers of open air roaming and working is exactly the ticket for him.
Did you know that it takes food about 7 seconds to get from your mouth to your stomach!?
Now if I can just stop singing "Little Drummer Boy" I will be able to get some sleep! Ho! Ho! Ho!
