All the elves seem happier today. They are more relaxed and, if you can believe it, more excited. I guess last night was a good idea, we all needed to "let off some steam".
Mrs. Claus and her helpers were making cookies and candies today. I offered to help but Mrs. Claus said they would need all the candies and cookies they made and she wanted them wrapped a certain way. I think she was afraid I would eat more then I would wrap. She also said if I took her to the Town Steakhouse for dinner she would make some extras for me. Ho! HO! HO! I love playing that gem with her. She always makes extras for the elves and us, and I always take her out to dinner when she wants to go.
We saw the some of the elves that helped build the steakhouse and they were remembering when the imps, hobbits and sprites were here and how they liked to scare all the elves when they would walk by the dark building. Mrs. Claus laughed so hard she started to cry so she wiped her eyes with her napkin. However, what she did not see was she didn't take the napkin off her lap, she was using the end of the tablecloth that hangs off the table. She stuck the corner in her purse and laid it on her lap and finished eating. After awhile we got up to leave and I, forgetting about the tablecloth, helped her with her wrap and walked away to buy some of the restaurants special mints. All of a sudden I heard a terrible crash, a scream and a lot of giggles. Then I remembered the tablecloth! I peeked into the dinning room and there stood Mrs. Claus, her face as red as her skirt and wrap. The table was cleared of all the plates, glasses, knives and forks and the beautiful centerpiece. The waiters were giggling under their breaths as they cleaned up the mess and the elves that were eating giggled quietly each time Mrs. Claus passed their table. To make matters worse, she left her purse on the floor and had to go back for it. I offered to get it for her but she no she would get it. When we got home she went upstairs and I was left to make the popcorn myself. She came down just a little while ago in her favorite nightgown and robe, and made us some hot chocolate. She come and sat beside me as we tried to watch a movie together but we couldn't hear it because we were laughing so hard.
