The wedding was in the Christmas Town Church. It was very pretty with the sun coming in the stained glass windows and the red and white poinsettias on the alter. The elves don't think I notice things like that, but Mrs. Claus makes sure I do. Jason, Grinch, Marvin and Brandon stood at the alter in Charcoal gray suits and matching gray shirt with a black tie and a cummerbund that matched one of the bridesmaids. In their lapels was a rose with tiny white flowers that Mrs. Claus says is baby's breath.
ChristmasCaroles walked down the aisle first. She was dressed in a winter green velvet gown with white lace and sparkles on the collar around her throat. Mrs. Claus told me to say that it was a choker. Next came Erty in dark purple velvet with the same lace and sparkle at her neck. Char's best friend, Courtney, wore burgundy and she came down the isle before her. I am to tell you by Mrs. Claus' instructions that Courtney was the flower girl. She threw flowers from a basket on the silver carpeted runway for Char to walk on. Each one, including Char, had bouquets with purple, burgundy, royal blue, green, white and silver flowers and ribbons in them. When Char came down the isle in her royal blue gown, Jason's eyes just sparkled. I'm pretty sure I saw tears but he won't admit it.
Everything went without a hitch until the wedding party turned to leave. Erty caught her heel in the carpet and knocked over Grinch who fell into Marvin who tripped ChristmasCaroles. Well, let's just say they all went down. I'm sure I don’t have to tell you how embarrassed they all were but we waited for them to leave the church before we burst into laughter.
The reception was in the workshop. No toys were made today and that's ok, we are very much on schedule with the help of our friends. The elves had decorated the shop with burgundy, silver and royal blue crepe paper. Bells of all the colors were hanging everywhere and it looked so nice I hated the thought of having to take it all down for tomorrow. On the tables were candles and a small doll dressed to match each of the wedding party. There also was a little "pouch" of candy in each of the colors. Char and Jason danced to "Everything I Do" by Bryan Adams, and saw no one but each other I'm sure. Oh my jingles bells! Was there ever food! I ate and ate until I was sure I would burst. We all danced and ate and drank the night away. It was so much fun! I'm truely glad we had this party to enjoy. It took our minds off everything that has happened. Except of course the wedding party's departure from the church! We all had a good laugh about that.
Jason and Char will wait until after Christmas to go on their honeymoon. I wonder if the other elves ever found out where they are going?
