December 14

Well my darlings it has been an interesting day to say the least. The joyful antics that make this town the way it is are in full swing. I was taking a walk into Christmas town when all of a sudden I hear from above “BOOOOOONNNNNNNZZZZZZZZZAAAAAAAAAAAAIIIIIIIIIIIIII!” So, being the curious person that I am, I look up and there coming straight down on top of me is elf Dak and Elf Zippy on a round sled. With a large “THUMP” I was smacked on the head with the sled and went straight down into the snow. I just laid there for a moment, the cold snow felt good on my burning forehead. All of a sudden Dak and Zippy came running up and started pulling me up out of the snow. “Santa” they said. “We are so sorry, we did not mean to land on you.” As I sat up out of the snow, I looked around and shook my head and said “it is OK, I know you did not mean any harm, it was an accident as usual.” I stood up and went on into town (with a slight headache, Ho! Ow, Ho! Ow, Ho! Ow). In town I decided I needed to rest a bit and stopped by Grey and Erty’s bakery. I sat down at the outside table and ordered a hot peppermint cocoa and a half dozen chocolate chip cookies. I sat there enjoying the frosty air and the hot cocoa, watching the hustle and bustle, thinking about what I needed to get done tonight. I know there are some letters that need to be answered and I want to get things ready for a test flight with the reindeer. I need to get the sleigh out and sort the kinks out. I went to take a drink of my hot cocoa and “whoooosh” in came Jingles. Jingles spilled my cocoa all over my lap and cookies. Well, since I wasn’t going to enjoy the rest of my break I asked “Jingles, what can I help you with?” Jingles responded “Santa I just wanted to go over the maps, charts, weather, test flight and a few other charts.” “Jingles, will you please go notify Zippy and Sharati that I will need the reindeer and sleigh tomorrow. That I am going to do my test flight.” Jingles said “sure Santa” and “whooooooosh” he was gone. Finally, I thought to myself.......peace and quiet. I decided not to chance another encounter with an elf soooooo, I headed up to my workshop. I got into the workshop and decided to tinker with a few things I had been working on. I have been trying to work on a magic wand, kind of like the one Harry Potter uses. I also thought, after the whole superhero elves problem, how cool it would be to actually make web shooters or a utility belt with neat little gadgets. I think that would be really neat. What do you think?

Well after a few hours of tinkering, I had a wonderful meal with Mrs. Claus and my old friend Jack Frost stopped by. He told me that he was thinking of putting a little bit of a chill on parts of the world that normally don't get too cold. "HO!HO!HO!" I said, "that would be a delight to them and probably a shock too!" We talked for a few hours and then Jack had to go. Father Winter needed him to start up a blizzard in the Yukon. After Jack left Mrs. Claus told me to get working on letters and make sure that things were going smoothly. I headed up to my office (with cookies of course) and here I am, getting ready to settle in with a few thousand letters. So I will say goodnight my darlings and sleep tight!
