Today is a very sad day for us. It is felt and seen all over Christmas Town. Last night Loopy took a reindeer and sleigh out to test a new leather harness and bit. All was going very well until he rounded Gingerbread Curve. He was going pretty fast and had to so to test the strength of the bridle setup. As she reached the center, and most dangerous part, because of the pull on the harness, it broke sending the reindeer into a large snow embankment and Loopy and the sleigh into a tree. It was a good thing that Mouse was out for a stroll and saw the accident. she was able to call the Elfamedics right away. Miseriff, the reindeer, is doing fine. He has some cuts and bruises and is very sore but he will be fine in time. The sleigh was so bent up that Happy says it just cannot be fixed and it's just best to melt it down and make a new one. Loopy, however, is in a coma at St. Elfwhere. Mrs. Claus and I spent most of the night at the hospital along with his special friend and several elves.
This morning we walked to the hospital on my way to the workshop. Mrs. Claus said she'd walk with me because she was going to stay for a while. As we got to the hospital we saw all the reindeer lying on the hospital lawn. Loopy has been the head of the reindeer care section for so long and all of them just love him so much. We went up to Loopy's room and talked to Doctor Moonlyte I was hoping there would be some change in Loopy but there wasn't He is still "asleep". The doctors and nurses were taking very good care of Loopy and say the next couple of days will tell us how injured he really is. Mrs. Claus took his special friend to the cafeteria to make sure she got something to eat.
When I left the hospital all the reindeer were still there. I told them they all couldn't stay, that we still had work to do but they didn't want to leave. I know how they felt. I didn't want to leave either. I told Marvin to see that they left and got back to work. He set up a schedule having 2 reindeer at a time at the hospital. It's getting pretty late and I am very tired.
