December 1

I got up this morning and read the report from Officer Dadd again. It seemed Marv and Sparkles didn’t fair as well as the supplies did. They headed straight for Rock Candy Ridge destroying everything in their path, including Harvey’s snowman, Martha’s ice garden and Tinker’s pizza sign. They soared off the ridge at what seemed 95 miles an hour, landed hard and skidded across Chocolate Lake. They hit the snow bank so hard that they plowed at least 4 feet into it making a small cave. No one could get them out so the Fire Department was called. When the elves arrived with the equipment the Elfamedics prepared to get to Marv and Sparkles. NiteTime, Snip, Pink and Trixie had to secure their lines to and repel down from Peppermint Bridge just to get close to them. It took over two hours to get the elves on the stretchers and up onto Peppermint Bridge. They were placed in the elfbulance and taken to the hospital. As scary as the whole thing was, Twinkie, XmasStar, Tenderheart and I thought it was very interesting to watch how the Elfamedics worked.

I went to see our little cave diggers at St. Elfwhere, both were badly shaken and Sparkles had a broken arm. Marv had a badly sprained ankle and some cuts and bruises. The doctor said they would be released from the hospital in a day or two and could return to light duty at the workshop in about a week. I, however, told them that instead of returning to the workshop right away they are to repair, or replace everything they destroyed on their little adventure. When you take something and destroy someone else’s property you must find a way to make things right. I think they have learned their lesson.
